Platja de GavĂ is a serene beach located approximately four kilometers from the GavĂ urban center in Barcelona, Spain. It lies between the Llobregat delta and the village of Castelldefels. This beach is admired for its wide expanse, quality sand, and cleanliness. Its natural charm is accentuated by a Mediterranean landscape, featuring dunes, coastal pine forests, and walking paths. This gives the beach a less developed appearance, adding to its scenic value.
The beach is known for its long sandbar and typically gentle waves, making it a popular spot for visitors. Despite its popularity, it is often quiet, largely due to the lack of public transport and the limited number of houses in the area. This tranquility makes it an ideal location for long walks along the seafront, with routes leading towards Castelldefels and the Llobregat delta.
Platja de GavĂ is well-equipped with a variety of facilities. These include bathing area markers, trash bins, surveillance chairs, benches, walkways, volleyball nets, showers, foot washers, football goals, and playgrounds. There is also informative signage available throughout the beach. The beach offers good shower services, and there are cafes near the central zone for refreshments.
The beach is accessible and equipped with adapted parking, showers, and a ramp for water access. There are also assistance points for bathing at two locations on the beach. Lifeguard services are available seasonally, with lifeguard modules situated at three locations along the beach. These modules are equipped with adapted changing rooms and washrooms, and the lifeguard team has a quad and a jet ski for emergencies.
Visitors can reach Platja de GavĂ by car via the Castelldefels C-31 highway, taking the GavĂ Playas exit, or by connecting from the C-32 highway with GavĂ and the beaches. There are also bus routes available. The nearest train station is located close to the Ctra. C-24. As for parking, there are no designated areas on the beach itself, but parking is possible in the surrounding areas.
