Plage de Port-Sable, Port Navalo is a secluded beach located in Arzon, Morbihan, Bretagne, France. It is situated at the end of the Rhuys peninsula and is known for its maritime and natural heritage. The beach is nestled between Quiberon's bay and the Gulf of Morbihan, offering a unique and scenic location.
The beach is approximately 100 meters long and is accessible via a pleasant promenade that connects it to Port Navalo and the Port of Crouesty. However, it's important to note that the beach can only be reached on foot, either by parking at the end of Chemin du Petit Mousse near Port Navalo or by taking a longer route through the Port of Crouesty.
The beach is characterized by its sandy shore and is known for its natural beauty. Despite the presence of large stones and a significant amount of algae, the beach maintains a wild and unspoiled appearance. An on-site explanation panel educates visitors on the ecological importance of the algae.
Adjacent to the beach is a campsite, open from spring holidays to the end of September, which offers various accommodation options including tents, caravans, and motorhomes. It provides a number of services and amenities such as sanitary facilities, spaces for relaxation and games, WiFi, boat trip ticket service, bike rental, and a food truck.
While the beach is known for its cleanliness and tranquility, visitors should be aware that swimming is not supervised at this beach. Furthermore, there was a prohibition on swimming and recreational fishing due to contamination as of August 19, 2020. The ban is subject to lift once health authorities determine the contamination has decreased to a safe level.
Despite its proximity to the campsite, Plage de Port-Sable, Port Navalo is considered a more secluded beach, frequented mostly by locals and campers from the nearby camping site. This makes it an ideal spot for those seeking a peaceful seaside retreat.
