Pozuelo

Pozuelo Beach, also known as Playa Pozuelo, is an urban beach in Almuñécar, nestled between two other beaches, Playa Velilla and Playa Calabajío. The beach spans 226 meters in length and 30 meters in width, characterized by its dark sand and patches of gravel. The beach's composition of fine sand and pebbles makes it particularly suitable for families, especially because the central bathing area is mostly free of stones, providing a comfortable spot for swimming. However, some areas of the beach have thicker stones, so visitors are advised to be cautious when exploring. The beach is known for its tranquil atmosphere, as it is typically not crowded, providing a peaceful experience for visitors. It is equipped with a range of amenities, including a beach bar, a kiosk, and two restaurants situated at both ends of the beach. While public toilets and showers may not always be available, the beach does offer security and surveillance services for the safety of its visitors. Parking is available in a designated blue zone near the beach, but the area is relatively small and tends to fill up quickly, especially during the high season. As such, it is advisable for visitors to arrive early to secure a parking spot. Despite this, the beach remains easily accessible and is a popular choice for a day out at the seaside. Adjacent to the beach is a small park named Parque del Pozuelo, which provides an enjoyable space for walking and spending time with children. Furthermore, the beach is located near the Taramay neighborhood and Castillo Velilla, adding to its urban charm. The waters of Pozuelo Beach are calm and crystal clear, making it an ideal location for swimming and family-friendly beach activities. With approximately 20 kilometers of coastline, Almuñécar boasts various beaches and coves, with Pozuelo Beach being a standout for its serene ambiance and family-friendly features.
