Playa Riumar

Playa Riumar, a beach located in Deltebre, is situated within the Delta del Ebro Natural Park. The beach is distinguished by its fine, golden sand and prominent sand dunes, some measuring up to four meters in length. This natural space is home to a diverse range of flora and fauna, offering a unique environment appreciated by visitors.

The beach stretches for almost 2,600 meters with a width that varies greatly. Despite its size, Playa Riumar is typically not crowded and is primarily frequented by locals. Its expansive space, combined with frequently favorable wind conditions, makes it a popular destination for windsurfers and kite surfers. The shallow waters also make it suitable for paddleboarding and other water activities. For those interested in exploring the region, wooden walkways are available for hiking.

Playa Riumar offers various amenities for its visitors. These include showers, toilets, trash bins, and a Red Cross point. Visitors can also find beach bars and rental services for hammocks and umbrellas. For families, the beach offers a children's playground, adding to its appeal as a family-friendly destination.

The beach also accommodates pets, making it a suitable destination for pet owners. In the northern part of Playa Riumar is Bassa de L'arena, the only pet-friendly beach in the Delta del Ebro.

Parking is available at the beach with more than 100 spaces, although it is not monitored. Access to the beach is easy by foot and it can also be reached by interurban bus. However, no public transport directly serves the beach, so visitors are advised to have their own vehicle for ease of access.

At the end of the beach, there is a viewpoint that offers magnificent views of the Laguna del Garxal and Playa del Garxal. Bird watchers can particularly enjoy trips through the park, with the best sightings often in the early morning or at dusk. Additionally, near the Riumar residential development, there is a quay where tourist boats depart for tours along the mouth of the Ebro river.
