Plage de Saint-Cyprien is a picturesque seaside destination in Saint-Cyprien Méditerranée, located south of Saint Cyprien Marina. It is also situated near the town of Lecci, at the entrance of the seaside resort of Saint-Cyprien, and is a mere 10 minutes north of Porto Vecchio, the first seaside resort on the island.
The beach is known for its vast expanse and natural beauty, featuring six kilometers of sandy shores, warm turquoise waters, and stunning views of the snow-capped peaks of the Pyrenees. It is divided into different sections, each offering its own distinct characteristics and facilities.
Plage Nord, popular among windsurfers, is equipped with a first aid station and offers separate areas for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Plage Rodin, located near the grand market, hosts intense volleyball tournaments. Plage Maillol is centrally located and allows visitors to combine beach activities with shopping. Plage de l'Office de Tourisme is situated between Place Maillol and the Office de Tourisme. Plage du Pont Tournant is near the Centre de Sports de Mer UDSIST and has a large parking area. Finally, Plage de la Lagune, accessible through the Pont Tournant, is one of the wildest beaches on the south side, while Plage Sud is at the southernmost part of the beach.
The beach offers various amenities for visitors, including umbrellas, sunbeds, and two seasonal beach bars. Several sections of the beach are equipped with mats for wheelchair access, tiralo (a seat with three wheels and two floats) for wheelchair access, and toilets for people with reduced mobility.
Parking is available but limited and is free of charge. Access to the beach is via a swing bridge on Rue Jean Sebastien Bach, which opens at 30 past the hour for ten minutes.
Though the beach can get crowded, there are times when it is spacious and quiet, offering a versatile experience for visitors. Those who love water sports can indulge in windsurfing and kitesurfing, with two clubs offering lessons for these activities.
In addition to the beach, visitors can explore other attractions in Saint-Cyprien, such as the Port de Saint-Cyprien, a lively fishing port.
