Plage Saint Michel

Plage Saint-Michel is a scenic beach located in the commune of Erquy, within the region of Côtes-d'Armor, Bretagne, in France. This beach is recognized for its natural beauty and unique features. It is divided into three parts and faces a northeastern direction, which provides it with some shelter from the prevailing winds. The beach, known for its preserved nature, is characterized by its fine sand, pink sandstone rocks, and dunes. It also has a grassy area suitable for picnics, although it lacks shade.

One of the most notable features of Plage Saint-Michel is the 19th-century chapel located on an island of the same name. Access to this chapel is possible during low tide, but visitors are advised to take caution and check the tide calendar beforehand. Good footwear is also recommended for this walk.

The beach offers opportunities for light water sports, but the lack of a boat ramp can make launching difficult. It maintains a wild and natural appearance, with less vegetation compared to other beaches. Despite being more accessible and longer in length, it is often quiet and not crowded, even with the presence of a municipal campsite behind the beach.

Plage Saint-Michel is reachable from the center of Erquy via Rue des Hôpitaux, followed by Rue de St Michel. It is located behind a small port. For visitors traveling by car, ample parking spaces are available.
