For dining and accommodation, the southern end of the Esplanade is lined with hotels, pubs, and restaurants. Beach huts are located along the sea wall, and there is a thatched pub called Fisherman's Cottage at the foot of Shanklin Chine.
The beach can be accessed by walking down from Shanklin Old Village through a scenic route that passes through trees and parkland. Parking is conveniently available along the seafront, and there is an additional car park halfway along the front. Public transport options include Southern Vectis buses and the Island Line train line, with Shanklin being the last stop.
Despite its popularity, Shanklin Beach is not overly crowded. It maintains a balance of being a tourist hotspot while still preserving a sense of tranquility. Visitors are advised not to feed the seagulls, thereby helping to maintain the cleanliness and ecological balance of the beach.
