Škaraba Beach

Škaraba Beach, located near the town of Rovinj and the Kurent cape, is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. The beach is situated within the Zlatni Rt forest park, adding a natural and picturesque backdrop to this tranquil beach setting. Despite its popularity, the beach rarely feels overcrowded, providing a peaceful beach experience for visitors.

The beach can be reached by a 30-minute walk from the center of Rovinj, or by bicycle through numerous trails. It is recommended not to use scooters or motorcycles due to local regulations. Parking is available for visitors near the Monvi entertainment center, which is just a few minutes' walk from the beach. However, the parking area can be crowded during the peak summer months of July and August.

Škaraba Beach offers a diverse landscape with a rocky coastline interspersed with several gravel entrances into the sea. The beach is approximately 800m long and features a perpendicular shore and deep sea, making it particularly appealing to adults and experienced swimmers who enjoy diving off high rocks. There are also pebble areas suitable for families. It's important to note that the rocky beach and difficult access to the sea at Škaraba cape may not be suitable for older individuals or families with children.

The south side of Škaraba Beach is frequented by naturists. Dogs are also permitted on the beach. Visitors are advised to bring their own equipment and sunscreen as the beach does not provide additional entertainment or sports facilities.

For those seeking refreshments, the nearest amenities, including a café and a restaurant, are located towards the Kurent bay. The bay of Velika Škaraba and its pier are a favorite spot for those who enjoy jumping into the sea, while free divers can appreciate the crystal-clear water and diverse marine life.
