Beach Stobreč Jug, also known as Plaža Stobreč Jug, is a picturesque beach located in the town of Stobreč, near the historic city of Split in Croatia. The beach is easily accessible by foot from anywhere in the town, and it is centrally located near a campsite. It can also be reached by car, with nearby parking spaces available. Another option for reaching Stobreč is to take the local bus line or to cycle along the coast, south of Žnjan.
The beach is characterized by its sandy and pebbly character, with the entrance to the sea being shallow and gentle. The water at the beach is known to be warm, clean, and of excellent quality. The beach stretches along the entire coastline of Stobreč, and it can get crowded at times. Despite its popularity, the beach tends to be less crowded compared to other city beaches.
Beach Stobreč Jug offers a variety of amenities and facilities for visitors. These include beach massages, a designated swimming area, a diving center, ice cream stands, fast food options, rental of sun loungers and umbrellas, showers, changing rooms, public toilets, toilets for disabled people, first aid services, and a lifeguard service. There are also several activities available at the beach, such as pedal boats, an aqua park for children, a playground, beach volleyball, kayak and canoe rentals, bicycle rentals, scuba diving, sailing, windsurfing, table tennis, and football.
While there are no additional facilities or amenities directly on the beach, such as restaurants or bars, everything you need is within reach, including restaurants, cafes, and shops. The campsite adjacent to the beach offers additional amenities, including bicycle rentals, a playground, a floating aqua park, a sailing and diving school, and a beach volleyball court.
The beach is divided into two parts: the west side is covered with small pebbles, while the east side features large stones. There is no natural shade on the beach, so it is recommended to bring appropriate sun protection. Visitors can also enjoy the shade provided by the trees of the neighboring campsite or use the fixed umbrellas. Additional shaded areas may need to be sought out by the beachgoers.
Despite its beauty, the beach has some issues with littering, with rubbish found in some places. It is also advisable for visitors to bring water shoes as sea urchins are scattered along the bottom.
