Strandbad Eldena

Strandbad Eldena is a municipal beach in the Eldena area of Greifswald, situated on the Dänische Wiek. It is recognized for its cleanliness and the extended shallow water zone, which makes it particularly safe and suitable for children. The beach is divided into different sectors, including areas designated for animals and nude sunbathing. The beach spans approximately 6 hectares and features both sandy and grassy sunbathing areas. It is equipped with playground facilities and provides opportunities for ball sports, making it a popular destination for families. The beach also offers amenities such as modern sanitary facilities, which are accessible for people with disabilities, and a small food box. Rental barbecue areas are available, adding to its appeal for gatherings and parties. Despite the lack of changing areas and shade, and the presence of shell sand, the beach remains a well-visited spot, especially between mid-May and mid-September when it is open free of charge. Note that dogs are not permitted on the beach. Strandbad Eldena is easily accessible with a bus stop located just 100 meters away. For those driving, the beach offers ample parking space. In the evenings, visitors can engage in beach volleyball, contributing to the lively atmosphere of the location.
