Strandbad Wallhausen

Strandbad Wallhausen is a tranquil and scenic beach situated on the outskirts of Dettingen-Wallhausen, a town on the shores of Lake Constance. The beach offers a breathtaking view of the city of Überlingen from across the lake. Known for its serene location and beautiful surroundings, it is often described as one of the most attractive strands on Lake Constance.

The natural characteristics of Strandbad Wallhausen include its many trees and flat, less rocky shore, which contrasts with other locations on the lake. The clear and inviting water makes it an ideal spot for swimming, particularly during the warmer seasons. The beach is surrounded by a lush park, offering plenty of space for relaxation.

This beach offers a range of amenities to enhance the visitor experience. Sports enthusiasts can engage in activities such as volleyball, table tennis, football, and 18-hole mini golf. There is also a designated area for windsurfing. Families can take advantage of the children's playground and a large chessboard. For safety, the beach is supervised by the German Lifeguard Association (DLRG) throughout the bathing season.

Conveniently, Strandbad Wallhausen features bathing piers that lead into the water, sanitary facilities, and changing rooms. There is also a kiosk and a restaurant on-site, which serves warm meals and provides rental services for beach chairs, sun umbrellas, canoes, kayaks, and bicycles.

Despite its popularity, Strandbad Wallhausen is seldom overcrowded, even on peak days. However, the beach may not be as suitable for swimming during colder months due to the drop in water temperature.

Regarding parking, there is a large car park located across the road from the beach. For those wishing to extend their visit, there is a farm up the hill that offers camping facilities. However, it should be noted that dogs are not permitted at Strandbad Wallhausen. The beach is also accessible for disabled visitors, who can enter the grassy areas.

Strandbad Wallhausen also offers a unique tour that commences from the beach, passing through the harbor, the Teufelstisch, and along the edge of densely forested mountain slopes. The tour concludes at the picturesque Marienschlucht, where visitors can take a break and swim. The tour, conducted using team canoes, accommodates 7-12 people and lasts for 4-6 hours.
