Sućuraj Beach is a popular tourist destination situated on the east side of Hvar Island in the historic fishing village of Sućuraj, Croatia. Apart from the natural beauty, the area is steeped in history, with the village of Sućuraj dating back over 2300 years. The architecture and culture of Sućuraj reflect the influences of various nations that once ruled the area. The village is characterized by inter-connecting stone houses and closed streets, built as a defense against pirate attacks.
Getting to Sućuraj Beach is possible by road from Hvar or by a direct land connection via the harbor of Drvenik. While the beach's lighthouse is not open to the public, it adds to the scenic beauty of the area. Visitors can also enjoy the local cuisine, including fresh fish and top-quality wines, in the nearby restaurants. However, they should be mindful that rubbish can sometimes wash up in the cracks of the stone slabs on the beach.
