Tyagarah Beach

Tyagarah Beach is a popular destination located in Australia, known for its natural beauty and large size. The beach is characterized by its clear water, good sand, and big waves, offering a stunning view of Byron Bay and its lighthouse. It is also recognized as one of Australia's most beautiful naturist beaches, providing a haven for those who prefer to sunbathe au naturale. However, visitors should be aware that there is no shelter from the sweltering sun, so it is advisable to bring a temporary sun shade and plenty of liquids to stay hydrated.

The beach is generally quiet during the week, but can get busy on weekends and holidays. There is a designated nudist area at the right-hand end of the beach, 200 meters from the path. Visitors who prefer a non-nudist environment can turn left when they reach the beach.

Parking at Tyagarah Beach can be challenging, especially during busy periods such as the Byron Bay Bluesfest. The car park is small and the cost is $8 per day. The parking system operates on a donation envelope basis, with a tear-off section to be displayed on the dash of the car to show payment. It should be noted that fines may be issued for non-payment.

Access to the beach involves an 8km drive along a corrugated dirt road, which some visitors have found challenging. There is a call for the road potholes to be repaired to make the beach more accessible. Once at the beach, amenities are limited with only a long drop toilet available and no water supply, so visitors are advised to bring their own water.
