Plage de Valras

Plage de Valras, also known as Valras-Plage, is a picturesque beach situated in the Hérault department within the Languedoc-Roussillon region of France. As the first beach of the seaside resort from Vendres, it is part of the Valras-Plage municipality, a small seaside resort known for its authentic character despite its proximity to the city center. It is positioned approximately fifteen kilometers from Béziers, on the right bank of the Orb river. The beach stretches over several hundred meters and is characterized by its clean, soft sandy shores and expansive size. The shallow waters of the beach extend a long way out from the shore, making it an attractive spot for visitors. However, the occurrence of rip tides in the area is a natural risk that visitors should be aware of. To address these and other potential threats, the Plans de Prévention des Risques (PPR) have been approved and the beach's management falls under the services of the State in the Hérault department. Plage de Valras is equipped with numerous amenities to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable visit for its guests. Free toilets are conveniently scattered along the beach walk and the natural beauty of the beach and its surroundings make it a popular spot for walks. To add to the convenience for visitors, parking is available free of charge in front of the beach. Despite its popularity as a tourist destination, especially during the peak tourist season, the large size of Plage de Valras ensures there is ample space for everyone. However, it is worth noting that during these times, the beach can become quite crowded.
