Ventnor Beach

Ventnor Beach is a spacious and beautiful beach located on the northern side of Phillip Island, just west of Cowes. The beach is known for its smooth sand and calm waters, making it a popular spot for families with young children. It is also a favourite among dog owners as it is one of the few beaches on the island that allows dogs to be off the leash 24 hours a day. The beach is divided into two sections - one where dogs are allowed off leash and another where dogs are not allowed during certain times. This makes it a versatile location for both dog owners and those who prefer a dog-free environment. The beach is not closed to the road and is very enclosed, making it safe for dogs to explore the rocks and stretch their legs. Ventnor Beach is also known for its natural beauty. It features rock pools and is a popular spot for snorkelling due to the presence of rocks in the water. The beach is located in a cove area, which protects it from strong southerly winds and makes the weather calmer and warmer. Access to the beach is easy, with a short walk from the parking area. There are two options for reaching the beach - a few steps or a sandy ramp. However, parking is limited, so visitors are advised to arrive early. Amenities at the beach include good car parking and toilets. From Ventnor Beach, it is easy to walk along towards Red Rock Beach, which is further along on the map.
