Wrzosowo Plaża is a picturesque beach located in the village of Wrzosowo, within the Dygowo municipality in Poland. Known for its sandy bottom and shallow waters, this bay-side beach is a popular spot for water activities such as kitesurfing and swimming, with its conditions being especially favorable for beginners. The water at Wrzosowo Plaża is of medium transparency and is often praised for its cleanliness.
The beach is small in size but is able to accommodate sunbathing and is suitable for children. However, visitors should note that there is no lifeguard service provided. The beach is equipped with a few amenities, including benches, providing a serene spot for visitors to enjoy breakfast or a bonfire, with visitors encouraged to help maintain the cleanliness of the area.
Despite its secluded location, Wrzosowo Plaża can get quite crowded, which attests to its popularity among locals and tourists alike. Access to this beach can be a bit challenging due to the poor condition of the access road, which begins with a stretch of cubes, followed by a 100m stretch of pits, before improving. Parking facilities are available along the shore, with space for a few tents and campers.
The village of Wrzosowo, where the beach is located, has a rich history dating back to the 13th century, with numerous examples of 19th-century residential and agricultural buildings still standing. Over time, Wrzosowo transitioned from an agricultural locality to a craft village, with the construction of a railway line in the 1850s facilitating the growth of crafts and trade. The village is also home to the filial church of the Transfiguration of the Lord, built before 1300, and two cemeteries.
