Zapallo Bay

Zapallo Bay is a picturesque beach located in Limassol. Known for its natural beauty, the beach is surrounded by cliffs and features clear turquoise water with a sandy bottom, devoid of stones. The beach is also home to a beautiful lagoon with white sand. Despite its seclusion, the beach is quite popular among visitors.

Getting to the beach is a bit of a challenge, requiring a hike down a 1.2 km long descent with a difference in height of over 100 meters. However, the stunning views from above and the serene environment make the journey worthwhile. Visitors are advised to be careful while making their way down and up the cliff due to the risk of tripping, sliding, and falling rocks.

Parking is available at the top of the gravel road, and there's also a dirt road with ample space for parking. From the parking area, it's approximately a 15-minute walk down to the beach. Sturdy shoes are recommended for the journey.

The beach is relatively uncrowded, offering a peaceful environment for visitors. The water is shallow, making it easy to get into, but also suitable for swimming. However, swimming near the seashore can be dangerous due to underwater caves and whirlpools, as suggested by local legends.

As the beach is quite secluded and wild, visitors are advised to bring their own food and water. Despite the challenges in reaching the beach and swimming, the natural beauty and tranquility of Zapallo Bay make it a worthwhile destination.
