Atuh Beach

Atuh Beach is a secluded gem located in Nusa Penida. The journey to the beach is an adventure in itself, involving a rugged road. Upon arrival, visitors are greeted by a stunning white-sand beach, surrounded by towering cliffs. The natural beauty of the beach is striking, making it an ideal spot for relaxation and swimming. The beach is also known for its snorkeling opportunities, with colorful coral reefs adding to its charm. However, the sea can be rough, limiting swimming and snorkeling to a certain extent. Additionally, the water level on the beach at low tide is so low that swimming is not possible. The beach is equipped with basic facilities, and local warungs offer simple, tasty food. Visitors should be aware that the descent to the beach can be quite exhausting, and even more so for the ascent. It's recommended to wear good shoes as the sand can make the path slippery. There are also stairs to go down to the beach, which can be slippery due to the sand. The beach is usually peaceful and less crowded, offering a genuine taste of Nusa Penida’s unspoiled charm. Atuh Beach is adjacent to Diamond Beach, offering a double feature to visitors. However, Diamond Beach is hardly accessible, especially at high tide. The view from the top of the cliffs overlooking both beaches is jaw-dropping. Visitors should be aware of big rocks in the water that get pushed in and out by waves, as they can be quite dangerous. The waves at Atuh Beach are not too bad, and a moderately confident swimmer should be able to handle them. The stairs leading down to the beach can be tough to climb if you're not used to the heat. Visitors must pay for parking and entrance to the beach. The best time to visit Atuh Beach is in the morning, as the water color is gorgeous, with beautiful light blue shades. By the afternoon, the tide is low and the water color is not as turquoise as in the morning.
