Cala Banyalbufar

Cala Banyalbufar, also known as Playa Cala Banyalbufar or simply Banyalbufar, is a picturesque beach located in the municipality of Banyalbufar on the island of Mallorca, part of Spain's Balearic Islands. Isolated and tranquil, it is recognized for its clear waters, pebbled shores and breathtaking views, including vibrant underwater life that attracts snorkeling enthusiasts. The beach measures 100 meters in length and 15 meters in width. Its coastline is characterized by cliffs and a concrete platform, offering a unique experience compared to traditional sandy beaches. The natural setting and the peaceful ambiance it provides have led to its description as having a 'hippie' style. Cala Banyalbufar is accessible both on foot and by vehicle. However, reaching the beach can be a bit challenging as it involves navigating steep stairs, which may not be suitable for everyone, especially for those with small children or those not in good physical condition. Despite this, the stunning views from the top are often considered worth the effort. In terms of amenities, the beach is quite basic with no facilities such as toilets, showers, trash cans, or restaurants. There are also no rental services for sunbeds or umbrellas, and no sports or playground areas. Additionally, no water activities such as diving or boat rental are offered, and nudism is not permitted. Regarding transportation, due to limited parking availability in the area, visitors are recommended to visit the beach by scooter. It is advised to arrive early to secure a parking spot. A bus service (Line 200) that goes to Banyalbufar is also available. In terms of occupancy, the beach can vary from low to medium to full, depending on the time of visit. During the high season, it tends to be crowded, which may affect the overall experience for some visitors. The nearest hospital, Hospital Universitario Son Espases, is located 20.3 km away for any emergencies.
