Calette Santa Margherita is a picturesque beach located in Macari, along the coast of Trapani in Sicily. However, during the peak season in July and August, the beach can get crowded, but it reverts back to its tranquil state during the off-peak months of May and October/November.
Despite the lack of beach clubs, equipped beaches and bars, the beach is not devoid of amenities. It offers a kiosk where visitors can purchase food and drinks, although the prices can be slightly above average. It's advisable to bring your own refreshments, especially drinks and sandwiches, for a relaxing day at the beach. A free shuttle service runs every hour, taking visitors to other coves of the bay. The beach also provides a large free parking area, located about a 5-minute walk from the beach.
Getting to the beach is quite straightforward. It can be easily accessed either by the free shuttle from San Vito or by car. If you're driving, the beach is located on SP16 and can be reached by following SP16 towards San Vito Lo Capo. Look out for a large parking lot on the right side that leads to the beach.
Visitors are advised to bring sandals for swimming due to the rocky nature of the beach. Bringing an umbrella is also recommended, as shade is scarce. Despite these minor inconveniences, Calette Santa Margherita remains an unmissable destination for those seeking a natural beach experience.
