Playa CebĂas is a picturesque beach located in Llanes, within the Principality of Asturias, Spain. It is known for its distinctive natural characteristics and the dramatic transformation it undergoes with the tides. At low tide, the sea recedes to such an extent that it becomes invisible from the sand, creating a serene and peaceful environment. However, as the tide rises, the sea gradually returns, often catching visitors by surprise.
The beach is part of the Comarca del Oriente de Asturias, a region known for being the first place in Asturias to see the sun rise and for its high mountains, including the Picos de Europa, a National Park and Biosphere Reserve. The beach is classified as a natural heritage site and falls under the category of beaches.
Despite its small size, Playa CebĂas is not typically crowded, providing visitors with a sense of tranquility and sufficient distance from others. This is further enhanced by its isolated location and the presence of surveillance equipment, adding to the overall sense of safety and peace.
Access to the beach is somewhat limited. There is no parking available at the beach itself, and the road leading to it is only open to authorized vehicles. Visitors can reach the beach via an agricultural track from the coastal path that connects the towns of Pendueles and Buelna. After passing a train bridge and turning right at the first flat area, a path of 50 meters leads to a building on the property. From there, visitors can descend to the beach either by the cliff, which can be challenging, or by sea.
Despite the lack of parking at the beach, visitors can still reach it by car, suggesting the presence of designated parking areas nearby. In addition to this, an ice cream truck often visits the beach in the afternoon, providing a touch of charm and convenience to the beach experience.
