Plage de Chiuni

Plage de Chiuni, situated in the Corsican town of Cargèse, is a serene and picturesque beach nestled between the points of Orchinu and Omigna in a well-protected and shallow gulf. Stretching over approximately 800 meters, the beach is characterized by its clean, fine sand and the perfect color of its water. The depth of the water varies across the beach, being deeper on the eastern end and shallower on the western end. The beach is divided into two parts: the southern area, which is home to a vacation center (Club Méditerranée) with a private beach that tends to be busy during summer, and the quieter northern part where the Chiuni River meets the sea. The beach is typically not crowded, offering a tranquil environment for its visitors. Plage de Chiuni offers a range of amenities and activities. During the high season, a beach hut directly on the sand serves refreshments to beachgoers. Visitors can also rent jet skis and participate in towed buoy activities. Furthermore, the beach is flanked by protected dunes and a nearby tower known as Orchinu, adding to its scenic beauty. Access to Plage de Chiuni is relatively straightforward. From the center of Cargèse, visitors can take the D81 road towards Piana and then follow the signs for Club Med. The beach parking area is approximately 1.5 km away. Despite the road leading to the beach not being in the best condition, the beauty of the beach makes the journey worthwhile. The beach offers ample free parking spaces along its length, although it is worth noting that there is no shade in the parking area.
