Crow Point

Crow Point is a picturesque beach located near the Assault training and D Day Landing craft mock-ups, which are popular attractions in the area. The beach is known for its expansive views up the river to Barnstaple and across to Instow and Appledore, as well as out to sea. It is also home to a shipwreck, which still has its engine in place, adding to the unique character of the beach. The beach is accessible via a toll road, which costs £2.50 and is equipped with an electronic barrier. The road has several speed bumps and passing places before reaching the large parking area. The parking area is made of gravel and can become muddy after prolonged rain. Crow Point is a great place for walking, with wide open spaces on the beach that are perfect for children and pets. The beach is also known for its abundance of driftwood, which children can use to make camps and shelters. However, there are no toilets or places to get refreshments on the beach, so visitors are advised to bring everything they need for the day. Parts of the area are Army training grounds but are still accessible to the public. On warm summer days, visitors can enjoy walking in the dunes, but they should be aware of the presence of Adders and keep their pets close by. Despite its natural beauty, Crow Point is not typically crowded, making it an ideal spot for those seeking a peaceful beach experience.
