Cylinder Beach

Cylinder Beach is a breathtaking destination located on North Stradbroke Island, a short ferry ride from Cleveland, Brisbane. The ferry services are available seven days a week and offer both passenger and vehicle options. The journey to the island is an experience in itself, with the option to enjoy the air conditioning inside or the sea air on the top deck. Some ferries even offer a café. The ride takes approximately 45 minutes. Once on the island, a bus service is available for transportation around the island. The bus journey from the ferry point ends at North Straddie's gorge walk, a scenic trail that takes about 20-30 minutes to complete. The trail offers stunning views of crystal blue ocean waters, refined golden sands, and sculpted cliffsides. The walk ends near the starting point, making it convenient for visitors to set up a picnic on the grassy banks overlooking the sea. Sightings of sea turtles and whales are quite common, and kangaroos can often be seen in the area. Cylinder Beach itself is about a 45-minute walk or a short bus ride from the end of the gorge walk. The beach is known for its small waves and soft, clean sand, making it perfect for toddlers. It is also a great spot for surfing and kicking a ball around. The beach is wide and flat, and it is not usually overcrowded. It offers beautiful views of both sunsets and sunrises over the point. Amenities at the beach include indoor showers and changing rooms. There is also ample parking available, especially during weekdays.
