Plage d'Abbartello, also known as Olmeto Plage, is a beautiful and serene beach located in the region of Olmeto, France. It is known for its natural beauty and relaxed atmosphere, providing a peaceful escape from the bustling crowds. The beach is nestled in the Sartenais Valinco Taravo region in the southwest of Corsica, situated about 10km away from Propriano in the Gulf of Valinco.
The beach features golden and fine sand, punctuated by large granite blocks. These blocks form small, pleasant coves that add to the overall charm of the beach. The water is clear, transparent, and turquoise, creating a picturesque setting that is ideal for swimming during the summer months. However, caution is advised during periods of high waves as the beach and surrounding area can become dangerous.
Plage d'Abbartello offers several activities related to nature and eco-citizenship, including kayaking and paddleboarding. One unique activity available is the "Descente du Taravo," which involves descending the Taravo River in the southern part of Corsica. The beach also offers initiation paddle activities for various organizations.
Access to the beach can be found along the D157 road, between Scodi Neri and Tenutella. While there isn't an official entrance marked, several small parking areas are available for visitors. It is recommended to park at one of the establishments' parking lots and consume something there, as they own the parking spaces.
Despite its allure, Plage d'Abbartello is not typically crowded, allowing visitors to enjoy its tranquillity. Visitors can also find a selection of restaurants within the vicinity, adding to the convenience and enjoyment of their beach visit.
