Praia das Dunas de São Jacinto is a beautiful, well-conserved beach located in Aveiro. The beach is known for its incredible landscape, characterized by the contrast of the dunes with the pine forest and bushes. The beach is a bit secluded with not much around, which contributes to its pristine condition.
Getting to the beach requires a bit of a journey. Visitors need to take the 'Forte da Barra' bus that passes by Lourenço Peixinho or from the Aveiro bus station. The bus ride ends at Forte da Barra, where a ferry is required to cross the sea. After disembarking from the ferry, visitors can follow the path that leads to 'Reserva natural de São Jacinto'. The path is a bit long and sandy, so comfortable shoes and a bottle of water are recommended. The path eventually leads to a wooden floor crossing the road, which leads to the coast and the beach of dunes.
The beach is vast, providing ample space for walking and fishing. However, visitors should note that the ocean can be dangerous, so caution is advised. Despite the journey to get there, the stunning landscape at the end of the bridge is well worth the walk.
