An alternative way to reach the beach is through Deauville's tourist train that operates from mid-April to September and during all French C zone school holiday periods. The train offers a 40-minute tour of the seafront and the famous boardwalk, passing by the town's major sites. Deauville Beach is known for its broad boardwalk, an ideal spot for leisurely strolls and enjoying the sunset. It offers a variety of recreational activities such as swimming, sunbathing, beach sports, and water sports. The beach is located in a resort town that offers a range of amenities and entertainment options, including luxury hotels, restaurants, cafes, and shops. For the safety of visitors, the beach has lifeguard surveillance. The lifeguards and security officers monitor a 550-meter-long and 300-meter-wide bathing zone. Lifeguard surveillance is available on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays from the end of April to the end of June and every day from the start of July to the start of September.
