Spiaggia dei Colombi is a picturesque sandy beach located in Vieste, in the Puglia region of Italy. It is nestled approximately 1.5 km north of Vieste, along the coastline of the Gargano National Park. The beach is easily accessible via the Vieste-Peschici coastal road, with designated parking areas available for visitors. The path leading to the beach, though slightly uneven and immersed in Mediterranean vegetation, opens to a stunning view of the beach, making the journey worthwhile. The beach is renowned for its natural beauty, characterized by clear blue waters, a gently sloping sandy seabed, and surrounding rocks. The beach is also bordered by maritime pine trees, adding to its serene and pristine environment. A unique feature of the beach is the giant Grotta dei Colombi (Cave of the Doves) that shelters it, enhancing the beach's wild and breathtaking beauty. Visitors can also spot a majestic trabucco, a traditional fishing platform, on a nearby cliff. Spiaggia dei Colombi is divided into two sections, with the smaller, more secluded cove to the south being particularly appealing for couples. The calm waters, protected from the wind by the surrounding rocks, are ideal for swimming and snorkeling. Despite its stunning beauty, the beach is not typically crowded, offering a tranquil atmosphere for visitors to relax and rejuvenate. However, visitors should note that Spiaggia dei Colombi is not equipped with certain amenities. There are no bars, umbrellas, changing rooms, or showers available on the beach. In addition, there are no trash cans, so visitors are advised to bring their supplies, such as water, sandwiches, and fruit, and to take their trash with them when they leave.
