Spiaggia dei Fossili

Spiaggia dei Fossili is a less frequented beach located on the west side of Balestrate. It is known for its golden sand, which is filled with a multitude of very small fossils along the shoreline. This gives the beach its unique name, which translates to 'Fossil Beach'. The beach is a good alternative to the more crowded beaches in the area, offering a quiet and serene environment. However, it is important to note that the access road to the beach can be a bit challenging to navigate, and parking space is limited. Despite its natural beauty, Spiaggia dei Fossili has been noted for its littering problem, with plastics and waste often found scattered across the beach and in the water. Visitors are therefore encouraged to bring a trash bag and help keep the beach clean for everyone to enjoy. To get to Spiaggia dei Fossili, one can start from the Lo Squalo restaurant, go right and follow the shoreline. This path leads directly to the beach, which is somewhat hidden from the main road.
