Spiaggia Lido di Fano is a sandy beach situated in the coastal town of Fano, within the province of Pesaro, Italy. It is nestled between two dams, one of which is the Ponente del Porto pier and the other protects the beach from the mouth of the Arzilla torrent. These dams contribute to the beach's natural characteristics, providing picturesque lighting and striking views, particularly when the first shadows of the night are cast onto the sea.
The beach's coastline spans 12 km and is divided into three sections, each equipped with amenities such as bars, entertainment facilities, and eating areas. However, due to limited space, the amenities are not as extensive as those found at larger seaside resorts. One of these sections is reserved for a local sailing club. The beach also houses 27 resorts that are accessible to people with disabilities and are equipped with children-friendly facilities. Notably, the beach is also pet-friendly, featuring a fenced area for dogs, who are allowed to swim under certain conditions.
Behind the beach, there is a summer promenade, known as the Lido, which offers a variety of restaurants, bars, and shops selling summer items. This promenade can be explored on foot or by bicycle. Additionally, Fano is connected to other locations via a 12 km long cycling path named Ciclovia Adriatica.
The sea at Spiaggia Lido di Fano is shallow, allowing for diving after covering a considerable distance, although there are clearly marked rocks. The beach has been recognized with a Blue Flag, an international award that acknowledges high standards of water quality, safety, and environmental management.
While the beach is not entirely free of charge, indicating that some services or amenities may require payment, its natural characteristics, amenities, and accessibility make it a favored destination for both locals and tourists. However, it's important to note that the beach may get crowded due to its popularity and limited space.
