Playa El Cocal

Playa El Cocal is a renowned beach in Quintana Roo, Yucatán, and the South, situated near the localities of Isla Mujeres and Punta Sam. It is on Isla Mujeres, an island in the Mexican Caribbean Sea, located 13 km off the eastern coast of the Yucatan Peninsula, near Cancún. The beach's geographic coordinates are 21.26056° north and -86.75417° west. It is recognized as one of the three most beautiful beaches on Isla Mujeres and is a popular destination for visitors. The beach's natural characteristics include calm and crystal-clear waters, along with a white and fine sandy shore. These combine to create a dreamlike landscape, making it an ideal place for families to spend the day. Despite having no reef, the beach is a favored spot for snorkeling due to the abundance of fish in the area. Playa El Cocal is located in close proximity to several amenities, including shops near the island's entrance and the Super Mercado. However, visitors are advised that prices can be high in these areas. For transportation around the island, taking a taxi is recommended due to the area's busy nature. The beach can become crowded, especially with party boats. The increasing number of boats close to the shore has raised concerns about overcrowding. Nevertheless, there are days when there are hardly any boats near the shore, ensuring that there is ample space for all visitors.
