Playa Es Bol Nou, located in the municipality of Sant Josep in the Balearic Islands of Spain, is a picturesque beach that attracts many families and friends for a day out. It is situated approximately 11.8 miles away from the nearest port, the Port of Ibiza. The beach is medium in size, extending approximately 70 meters in length and 15 meters in width.
Surrounded by orange cliffs made of clay rocks, the beach boasts a unique charm. The shore is composed of fine natural sand, pebbles, and some rocky areas. Notably, the seabed of Playa Es Bol Nou is sandy with some rocks and areas of underwater vegetation, particularly Posidonia meadows. This beach has a depth of 5-6 meters and offers shelter from various directions, including N, NE, E, ES, SW, and NW.
The beach is a combination of sandy beaches that alternate with pebble inlets and rocky areas, forming a closed bay. Despite its impressive natural beauty, the beach is not overly crowded, offering a peaceful and undisturbed environment for visitors. However, due to its popularity, it is advised for visitors to arrive early.
To access Playa Es Bol Nou, one can take the PM-803 road from Ibiza for 9 kilometers, then take a deviation towards Es Jondal. After 4 kilometers, there is a detour to the beach. It can be accessed by car, motorcycle, or bus during the summer season.
The beach offers free parking for visitors. For amenities, there is a restaurant nearby that provides food and drink options for beachgoers. However, there are no vendors selling items on the beach.
The beach is not only a popular destination but also an important natural area. Visitors are urged to anchor their vessels on sandy bottoms and keep the anchor and chain outside the Posidonia meadows to prevent damage to this marine plant.
