Praia do Evaristo

Praia do Evaristo is a picturesque beach located in Albufeira, a city in the Algarve region. The area is characterized by its rocky landscape, with low cliffs aesthetically carved by the elements surrounding the beach. Large blocks of rock, covered in algae, line the tide area, contributing to the salty air of the beach. The sandy area of the beach is warm and dry, framed by a variety of vegetation including pine trees, strawberry trees, and large agave plants. A saltwater-resistant plant known as "barrilha" can be found closer to the sandy area.

Visitors to Praia do Evaristo can enjoy a walk along the cliff tops, taking in the unique rock formations. Snorkeling is also a popular activity, with a variety of marine life such as barnacles, mussels, limpets, and sea anemones inhabiting the rocky walls, and schools of bream, sea bream, and kingfish swimming around the rocks. Safety precautions should be taken, especially in the eastern sector of the beach, due to the risk of rockfalls.

The beach is easily accessible via a paved road from the villages of Guia and Galé, with signs leading the way. A medium-sized, informal parking area is available on unpaved ground. Praia do Evaristo offers a range of amenities during the bathing season, including a restaurant, toilets and lifeguard services. The beach also provides facilities such as sunshade rental and showers.

Despite its many attractions, Praia do Evaristo is not typically crowded, offering a tranquil environment for visitors. Its southwestern-facing position and nearby national park adds to its charm, making it a prime spot for relaxation and exploration.
