Beach for Dogs is a unique location that offers a sandy, shallow beach where dogs can freely roam and play. The beach is accessible via a long, rocky, uneven, sandy, hilly, dirt track, which can be challenging for some visitors. Despite this, the beach is a popular destination for dog owners due to its natural characteristics. The water at the beach is quite shallow for about 30 meters, making it safe for dogs to play in. The beach is all sand, with no pebbles or sharp rocks, making it comfortable for both dogs and their owners.
During the summer months, the beach is maintained and cleared of seaweed, and a porta-loo is available for visitors. However, these amenities are removed in the late September/ early October period. Parking is available directly on the beach, making it convenient for visitors. However, it's important to note that not all visitors adhere to the rules, and there have been instances of cars churning up the sand in the nearby natura 2000 dunes reserve.
The beach is equipped with several bins and dog poop bins at both ends of the beach, although some visitors have noted that more could be beneficial. Despite this, some dog owners have been reported to not responsibly dispose of their dog's waste, which can occasionally lead to litter on the beach. The beach is not usually too crowded, providing plenty of room for dogs to run around.
