Freatida Beach

Freatida Beach is a quiet and easily accessible beach located near the main road and tram stations. It is nestled in the middle of neighborhoods in Pireas, Athens. The beach is characterized by its stony terrain, with less sand and more stones. Despite this, it offers a great view and warm crowd, making it a non-mainstream location for those seeking tranquility and a good view. The beach is equipped with a few shacks for rent, although many visitors prefer to bring their own towels and rugs to lay down. It also features changing cabins and toilets for the convenience of its visitors. Lifeguards are on duty, ensuring the safety of those who wish to swim in the warm Mediterranean sea. The sea water is a beautiful clear blue and refreshingly cold, perfect for a relaxing experience by the sea. The best time to visit Freatida Beach is in the morning till noon, when the sea is calmest, cleanest, and less crowded. However, visitors are advised to be cautious of small pieces of glass that blend in with the tiny stones. To get to the beach, one can enter off of Themistokleous, near the Diogenes courts, or walk down the steps that lead to the basketball court and turn left.
