Gerakas Beach

Gerakas Beach is a stunning beach located on the island of Zakynthos. It is known for its clear, turquoise water and smooth entrance into the sea. The beach is situated in a small bay and features a long stretch of golden sand. The landscape surrounding the beach is unique and adds to the overall beauty of the location. The beach is equipped with sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, although these are considered to be among the most expensive on the island. There is limited space on the beach, and it can get crowded quickly, especially during the high season. Visitors are advised to arrive before 11 AM to secure a parking space. One of the unique features of Gerakas Beach is the presence of sea turtle nests. Because of this, water sports are not permitted on the beach to protect the nests. Visitors may even be lucky enough to spot some turtles, particularly in the morning. Despite its beauty, Gerakas Beach does not have any bars or shops on the beach itself. Visitors should plan accordingly and bring any necessary items with them. The beach is also exposed to the wind, so those bringing their own umbrellas should take caution.
