Plage de Giottani is a public beach located in the commune of Barrettali in the Cap Corse region of Corsica, France. Situated on the west coast of the Mediterranean Sea, the beach is known for its natural beauty characterized by a backdrop of a shaded pine forest, tall cliffs and a sheltered bay. Its water is notably clear and of excellent quality, making it a popular choice for swimming.
The beach is composed of pebbles and stones, with a sandy area where the sea touches again. Due to the stony nature of the beach, visitors are advised to wear shoes. A unique feature of Plage de Giottani is a jumping platform onto the sea, adding to the fun activities it offers. Water sports are also popular on this beach, making it an exciting destination for adventure seekers.
Plage de Giottani is equipped with several amenities for the comfort of its visitors. During the summer, the beach is equipped with a pontoon and beach huts. It also provides shade under the tamarisk trees, creating a comfortable and relaxing environment for beachgoers. For individuals with reduced mobility, the beach offers easy access facilities in partnership with the Cap Corse handicap association and the Parc naturel Marin du Cap Corse et des Agriates.
The beach has ample parking spaces available, making it convenient for visitors travelling by car. Despite its beauty and amenities, Plage de Giottani is not typically crowded, even during the summer season, offering a serene and peaceful beach experience.
To reach the beach from the village of Nonza, one must take the D80 road heading north and then turn left onto a small road that leads to the marine. On either side of the beach, there are a few houses and a small port on the right, and a stream that flows into the sea on the left. Also, within the village, there are restaurants and bars available for visitors.
Please note that pets are not allowed on the beach.
