Playa de Gulpiyuri

Playa de Gulpiyuri is a unique beach located in a small grotto. The beach is connected to the sea by a cave in the cliff, which makes it a sight to behold. The beach is quite small, and can get overcrowded during the summer months. Despite its size, it is worth a detour from the Autopista A8 for those who appreciate natural beauty. The beach is not only known for its unique location, but also for the stunning cliffs that run along the ocean. These cliffs offer numerous spots for taking beautiful photographs, viewing the waves, and sitting to contemplate the beauty of the surroundings. However, it should be noted that the beach is not ideal for swimming, especially during high tide when the beach disappears and the bottom of the grotto fills with water. The beach is somewhat secluded, and visitors may only encounter a few other travellers or tourists, especially during off-peak times such as mid-September. To reach the beach, visitors need to walk a bit through the fields. It is also recommended to check the tide times before visiting, to ensure the beach is visible. On the other side of Playa de Gulpiyuri, there is another large beach which is known for its surfing potential. This adds to the variety of natural attractions in the area.
