Isolotto Brancati

Isolotto Brancati is a small beach situated in Marzamemi, a coastal village in Pachino, Sicily. This beach is distinctive due to its natural features which include large stones that may make access to the water challenging. Additionally, the beach is home to a burgundy-red villa, a significant landmark on the islet, known for its historical connection to the Brancati family. The villa was once owned by the family of Raffaele Brancati, a native of Pachino and a surgeon by profession. It also hosted Vitaliano Brancati, a renowned Italian writer and playwright, who was a cousin of Raffaele Brancati. This familial link has led to the beach being colloquially known as the Brancati islet. Despite its historical significance and natural beauty, visitors to Isolotto Brancati have reported that the beach can often be found littered with waste, including cigarettes and plastic, detracting from its appeal. It's worth noting that the beach does not offer certain amenities such as showers.
