İztuzu Plajı

İztuzu Plajı, located in Ortaca, Muğla, is a beautiful beach known for its golden sandy shores and clear waters. The beach is operated by the Muğla University and is an important nesting ground for the endangered Caretta Caretta sea turtles. To protect these creatures, the beach does not have any artificial lighting after 20:00 and the areas where the turtles lay their eggs are carefully marked. Amenities at İztuzu Plajı include showers, toilets, and the option to rent sunbeds. Visitors can also enjoy a beachfront restaurant and bar. The beach has a parking area, which is free for the first 15 minutes and then becomes chargeable. To reach İztuzu Plajı, it is recommended to first travel to Muğla city center and then take public transportation to Dalyan. From Dalyan, there are frequent transfers to the beach. Despite its popularity, İztuzu Plajı maintains a sense of spaciousness, with plenty of room for visitors. However, it can get quite crowded, especially after 10am. The sea at the beach can sometimes become a bit rough, but this adds an element of fun to the beach experience.
