Kalamaki Plaji

Kalamaki Plaji, also known as Plaji Kalamaki Plaji, is a scenic beach nestled in the Güzelçamlı Mahallesi neighbourhood of Kuşadası, a city in Turkey. It is part of the array of beaches that stretch along the city's 30-kilometer coastline. Apart from taking in the picturesque views, visitors can participate in a myriad of water sports such as canoeing, sailing, water skiing, surfing, fishing, and boat tours. Kalamaki Plaji is situated within a National Park, making it the third beach in this park. Unlike the preceding sandy beach, this beach is primarily stony, and visitors are recommended to wear water shoes for protection when entering the sea. The beach is nestled amidst tall pine trees, offering a captivating view where the shade of the trees merges with the sea. This beach is known for its clean air, a result of the prohibition of any kind of fire, including barbecues, which helps maintain the beach's cleanliness and air quality. Despite the beach's natural allure, it is not typically crowded when compared to the first beach in the National Park. However, it can get busy during the weekends, so early arrival is suggested for those wanting to secure a picnic table. Kalamaki Plaji comes with several amenities, including toilet and shower facilities. However, visitors are advised to bring all necessary items, such as water, as there may not always be businesses open. The beach can be reached by vehicle, with a fee charged upon entry. Parking is available on a dirt road with six bays, and visitors are responsible for finding a parking spot, preferably under a tree for shade. Safety attendants are also present on the beach to ensure the visitors' well-being. The park housing the beach closes before sunset, and littering, particularly with cigarette butts, is strongly discouraged to preserve the area's natural beauty.

Visitor Reviews

Visitor reviews highlight the cleanliness of the beach and the clear water as the most appealing features. The presence of tall pine trees providing shade and the less crowded nature of the beach compared to others in the National Park are also appreciated. However, complaints include the presence of cigarette butts, the stony entrance to the sea which can be uncomfortable for bare feet, and the difficulty in securing a picnic table after 9 am.
