Kipos

Kipos, also known as Kípoi, is a location within the region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, Greece. It is situated approximately at sea level, making it an appealing destination for sea lovers. The population of the region, as per the 2011 census, is 193 occupants.

One of the notable attractions in Kipos is the Kipos Beach. This beach is not typical as it is characterized by a rocky terrain rather than sand. Despite the lack of sand, the beach and its surrounding scenery are captivating. The sea is crystal clear, providing ample space for visitors to relax and appreciate the natural beauty. The beach is at the end of a long tarmac road, which is scenic, but in need of some repair, so visitors are advised to drive cautiously.

However, Kipos Beach is relatively remote and wild, offering a sense of tranquility and isolation. Due to its remote nature, the beach lacks amenities such as lounge chairs, beach bars, or facilities. Shade is also very limited, and the rocky terrain might make it challenging to erect umbrellas, particularly in windy conditions. Consequently, visitors are encouraged to bring their own food, water, and appropriate sun protection. Wild animals, including turtles and goats, can be spotted around the beach, adding to its wild charm.

Despite its remote location, Kipos Beach is known for being a popular spot for naturism. However, visitors should note that there is no drinkable water source near the beach. Kipos is also recognized for trail running activities, which provides another outdoor activity for visitors aside from beach-going.
