Kounopetra Beach is a stunning location situated in a shallow cove. The beach is known for its calm waves, making it an ideal spot for children and non-swimmers. The depth of the water increases gradually, remaining waist-high even 50 meters out from the shore. The Ionian Sea, which the beach is part of, is warm and gentle, providing a refreshing and relaxing experience for visitors. The beach is characterized by its clean and clear waters, which are perfect for snorkeling. Particularly, the rocks to the right of the beach are a popular spot for spotting fish. The beach also features a picturesque little boat port. For those who enjoy long walks, the beach extends a good length and offers a beautiful view. Along the walk, visitors can find broken clay pieces, which can be used to make healing mud packs. Kounopetra Beach offers several amenities for the comfort of its visitors. Sun umbrellas and sunbeds are available for a daily fee, and there is a restaurant on the beach that provides food and drink service until 10pm. The restaurant also offers a great vantage point for spotting sea turtles, especially during sunset. However, it should be noted that there are no public showers available on the beach. Parking is conveniently located just 20 meters away from the beach. Despite its many attractions, Kounopetra Beach is not typically crowded, making it a great place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
