Plage de la Marine Pietranera is a charming pebble beach located in the commune of San Martino di Lota, approximately 3km north of Bastia, on the route to Cap Corse. Despite its close proximity to Bastia, it is not widely known among tourists, making it a hidden gem in the region. The beach is known for its unique natural characteristics. It is characterized by large stones that gently slope into the crystal clear water. A distinctive feature of the beach is a giant stone formation situated in the center of the beach, which is often referred to by locals as the 'Stonehenge of Corsica'. The beach is also surrounded by lush trees, adding to its tranquil and serene ambiance. Plage de la Marine Pietranera is well-suited for family visits. It is never overly crowded, offering a peaceful and relaxing beach experience. Additionally, it provides opportunities for various leisure activities such as swimming and sunbathing. The beach is equipped with several amenities to enhance the visitor experience. It has a lifeguard station ensuring the safety of beachgoers. There is also a beachside restaurant or bar, referred to as a guinguette, where visitors can enjoy a range of food options in a pleasant setting. Public showers are available for the convenience of the visitors. However, the toilet facilities at the restaurant/bar are exclusively for the use of customers. Access to the beach is through a small paved road and a sloping path, making it easily accessible even for those dependent on public transport. For those driving from Bastia, the route is via the D80 road towards the north, passing through Palagaccio. Before reaching San-Martino-Di-Lota, there is a parking lot on the right side. Just after the parking lot, there is a road that leads down to the beach, ensuring ample parking space for visitors.
