Plage de l'Arinella

Plage de l'Arinella, situated in Bastia, Corsica, France, is the largest beach in the city. The beach is renowned for its tranquil atmosphere, and despite its popularity, it manages to retain an intimate and cozy feel even during peak season. It is located on Route de l'Arinella and extends to Tombulu Biancu beach in Furiani, reaching up to the Biguglia Nature Reserve. This feature offers visitors a splendid view of the nearby mountains as well as the Bastia citadel.

The beach is well-equipped with amenities, including facilities such as showers and toilets, and is accessible for people with reduced mobility. It is a popular destination for families, offering various playgrounds, a skate park, and a city stadium. The beach also has a beach bar where visitors can relax and enjoy refreshments.

Plage de l'Arinella is not just a place for relaxation; it is also a hub for various water activities such as kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, windsurfing, catamaran sailing, and towed buoy rides. It is a preferred spot for swimming in the sea and is supervised during the season for safety.

Visitors can access Plage de l'Arinella from the center of Bastia by taking the N193 road towards the south and then making a left turn onto the Arinella road. There are private sections along the coastline where visitors can rent beach chairs and umbrellas for a more comfortable experience.

Despite its many offerings, Plage de l'Arinella can get crowded during the summer months. However, its northern part, known as "plage des sables rouges," offers a more serene atmosphere. It's worth noting that there have been some reports of cleanliness issues at the beach.
