Le Lampare

Le Lampare is a prominent beach located in the coastal village of Castel di Tusa, in the Messina area of Sicily. The beach's name, "Le Lampare," is derived from a local fishing tradition involving the use of lamps for night fishing on boats.

Situated in a small bay, the beach is known for its picturesque landscape, characterized by a large rock formation near the shore and a mixture of medium-grained sand and round stones both on the coastline and in the seabed. The clear, azure waters surrounding the beach enhance its scenic beauty. The shoreline has a shallow seabed with stones, making it advisable for visitors to bring along beach shoes for a comfortable experience.

Le Lampare is partly equipped with beach clubs that offer services such as sunbeds and umbrellas. In the vicinity of the beach, visitors can find the Museo Albergo Atelier sul Mare and the installation called Cavallo Eretico, both components of the Fiumara d'Arte, which is the largest sculpture park in Europe. Furthermore, the beach offers breathtaking views of the Castello di San Giorgio, a castle dating back to the 13th century, which overlooks the beach.

Parking facilities are available along the promenade for visitors traveling by car. To reach Castel di Tusa, one can take the SS113 highway. Despite the beach's popularity, some visitors have suggested the need for improved pedestrian-friendly signage to nearby sites.
