Plage du Liamone

Plage du Liamone is a beautiful and expansive beach located between the villages of Tiuccia and Sagone in the Corse du Sud region. The beach is known for its natural beauty and tranquility, even during the peak summer season. It stretches for several kilometers across two communes, Coggia to the north and Casaglione to the south, offering visitors a vast and preserved backdrop.

The beach is situated where the Liamone river meets the sea, creating a unique and stunning landscape. However, this also leads to strong underwater currents, particularly during heavy rains, which can make swimming potentially hazardous. As such, visitors are advised to exercise caution as the beach lacks surveillance.

Despite its wild and natural atmosphere, Plage du Liamone offers a range of amenities. There are two seasonal restaurants available on-site for dining, one located near the Liamone bridge in the center of the beach, and the other towards the northern tip of the beach. Although there are no accommodation options directly at the beach, the nearby villages of Sagone and Tiuccia offer a variety of lodging options, including privately rented villas and a camping site named Le Couchant in the inland area.

Access to Plage du Liamone is straightforward with multiple entry points due to its vast length. The three main access points are at the southern and northern ends of the beach, and at the Liamone bridge. Parking is available near each of these access points, offering convenience for visitors. However, visitors are advised to be mindful of haphazard parking on the northern part of the beach, which can make the track leading to the beach difficult to navigate.

The central part of the beach, between the estuary and the north, is renowned as a meeting place for naturists, with dunes and small driftwood cabins providing a space for sunbathing in the nude. Families with children should be aware of this when visiting the beach.
