Marmaris Halk Plajı is a long beach located along the city's sea view. It is easily accessible via a paved bike and walking road. The beach is a popular spot for sun lovers during the summer and kitesurfers in the winter, particularly when the south winds blow. It is also a good anchor place for sailing yachts during north winds. The beach offers a picturesque setting, especially during sunrise when the sun pops up from the hill right in front of the beach.
The beach tends to get crowded after 9:00 in the morning, with afternoons being particularly busy. The beach's sand is hard and filled with pebbles, making it uncomfortable to walk on. It is also not suitable for children to build sandcastles. The water at the beach is not clear and is difficult to enter due to large stones.
Despite these challenges, the beach does not charge for the use of umbrellas. However, cleanliness is a concern at Marmaris Halk Plajı, with reports of trash, dirty sea, and polluted water. The presence of cigarette butts and oily run-off in the water has also been noted.
