Matemwe

Matemwe Beach is located on the north-east coast of Zanzibar in Tanzania and is known for its stunning beauty. The beach features fine white sand and stones on the ocean floor, with the water depth gradually increasing. However, due to the resort being tide-dependent, it is not recommended for families with children. There are ten hotels of varying comfort levels, which can be accessed by taxi or local bus. The beach is long and wide with a low number of tourists, and amenities such as sun loungers, umbrellas, and cocktails are available. Swimming is only possible during high tide, and it is recommended to wear rubber shoes due to wildlife on the coast. The best time to visit is from July to March, with the rainy season occurring in April, May, and November. Temperatures can reach up to +38 degrees during the day, and the water can warm up to +30 degrees.
