Melengeç Beach, located in Demircili Mahallesi, Urla, İzmir, Turkey, is a unique destination that offers a blend of natural beauty and essential amenities. The beach, situated in the region of Demirci, is accessible via a hiking trail that begins from the village of Yağcılar. The trail starts with a scenic path through a forest, leading to a dry well after approximately 4 kilometers. Following this, hikers embark on a new trail, with the first 1.5 kilometers leading to a challenging 400-meter section covered with bushes and rocks, requiring careful navigation due to its steep descent. This section of the trail leads to a riverbed, often referred to as a canyon. Upon descending to the valley, the trail continues for another kilometer, leading to Papaz Koyu, a suitable spot for a lunch break and swimming. The final leg of the journey takes hikers to Melengeç Beach via Taşada Koyu. It is recommended that visitors ensure they have adequate water supplies, as there are no potable water sources along the trail. The trail is best tackled at the beginning and end of the hiking season.
Once at Melengeç Beach, visitors are greeted by a family-run operation that charges an entrance fee per vehicle, payable only in cash as credit cards are not accepted. The beach offers an area of grass for those who prefer not to get sandy. The water at the beach is known to be quite cold, so visitors should be prepared. Amenities at the beach include delicious food and drink options, as well as shower and toilet facilities.
Melengeç Beach is known for its mixed views, which can be striking from a distance but may change upon closer inspection. The beach is especially popular among camping and trailer enthusiasts, providing a unique beach experience for those who enjoy outdoor activities.
